AI & Society Fellowship
A discussion-based program on AI Safety, Ethics, and Governance
Our society is largely underprepared for the impact of advanced AI. From loss-of-control risks to AI-backed surveillance, from the displacement of human creativity to the blurring of reality and fiction — these challenges demand broader attention and engagement.
The AI & Society Fellowship is a discussion-based program designed to make critical issues in AI Safety, AI Ethics, and AI Governance accessible to busy people — especially university students. Built around curated videos and podcasts rather than dense academic papers, the fellowship requires just ~2 hours per week: one hour of preparation and one hour of group discussion.
The program focuses on surfacing key problems rather than prescribing solutions, empowering participants to identify the issues that matter most to them and pursue those areas independently.
By the end of the fellowship, participants will:
- Develop a foundational understanding of a wide range of issues across AI Safety, AI Ethics, and AI Governance
- Gain hands-on knowledge and project experience in these fields
- Identify a concrete problem they want to work on and a pathway to contribute
No prior AI background is required — introductory materials on machine learning, deep learning, and large language models are provided for newcomers.
